I have never known a Yankee season without Mariano Rivera closing out the games. Over the course of his 19 year career he has given stability that allowed the team to succeed. But he did more then the stats can even show, as great as they are. Rivera has been a leader and one that leads by example. He works hard, he is dedicated, and he supports his team. He is one of those rare and special people that make others better.  For many reasons Rivera is a special player and what an amazing experience this year to see so many other teams and fans recognize him.
